Mini Facelift vs. Traditional Facelift
During a full facelift, patients are given general anesthesia. A surgeon then makes an incision around the hairline to the lower scalp. This incision allows the surgeon to sculpt/redistribute fat, lift facial muscles, re-position underlying tissue and trim excess skin from the face.
After the completion of the full facelift, bandages are loosely wrapped around the face to lessen the effects of bruising and swelling. The recovery time can take as long as several weeks depending upon the severity of the procedure. A full facelift can cost thousands of dollars and takes 4-5 hours to complete. The patient is usually allowed to go home the following day.
During a mini facelift, a surgeon repositions and tightens facial muscles resulting in a tighter and smoother appearance. The procedure lasts 2-3 hours, and the patient may go home the same day.
Although a patient is advised to take 1 week off from work to heal, results of the mini facelift are noticeable almost immediately. Since the procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, patients are allowed to go home the same day.
Here are a few benefits of getting a mini facelift:
- Minimal healing time requirement.
- The procedure is affordable
- The results can be seen almost immediately.
Many patients are impressed with the results of their mini facelifts, and you will be too.
