Butt Lift with Fat Transfer
The most popular method to achieve a larger rear end is Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). This surgery involves taking fat from one part of the body where it is not wanted — for many patients this means the thighs or belly — and grafting it to the buttocks.
Not only does this additional fat enlarge the butt, it also gives it a more natural look and feel because it is your own fat cells that have been moved to a new location. Moreover, this real fat is easier to contour, which makes it easier for surgeons to provide the shape that patients desire.
You should be aware that these fat cells will continue to behave like any other fat. If you subsequently lose or gain weight, the shape of your butt will follow in a proportional manner. In other words, you can undo the effects of your surgery if you do not maintain a consistent weight.
Butt Augmentation with Implants
While on the whole patients seem to prefer the benefits of Brazilian Butt Lift, implants remain another choice for butt enhancement, particularly among those who are thin. Because slender bodies do not necessarily have enough fat to transfer to the buttocks, silicone implants may be the more practical solution for some.
Sculptra
Sculptra is an injectable designed to add volume to the skin and eliminate signs of scarring. However, some patients have turned to Sculptra in pursuit of a non-surgical solution for butt enhancement. With strategically placed Sculptra injections, many will see the size of their buttocks increase, with results lasting about two years. Sculptra can also help to fill in the dimples and indentations that may make the butt look less attractive.
Although Sculptra has become more popular for butt enhancement, it is an off-label use and, of course, temporary. The results will not be as dramatic or precise as a surgical solution, but that may be worth the tradeoff for people who do not want to go under the knife.
